2019 Puerto Rico Skillshare

January 12th

La Loma la Nina in Mariana

ARECMA, in partnership with Partnering with Abi, put on the first Skillshare of 2019 hosted at La Loma la Nina in Mariana on Saturday January 12th.

This event supported Partnering with Abi, to continue a vision of Abi Dietz , who had a passion for Skillshares, sustainable agriculture, and simple living. Her family and friends continue to remember her by supporting projects and events that she had hoped to carry out during her time on earth. We are partnering with ARECMA and the Center for Imagination, which is a unique organization whose mission is to transform the community of Mariana (in Humacao, Puerto Rico) into a trans-generational catalytic sustainable village by developing and practicing community-level hurricane preparedness plans and building social and physical infrastructure to withstand uncertainty and future natural disasters.

ARECMA, Inc is re-imagining how we live in rural communities, how we generate energy and manage our natural resources, how to attract and retain talent and engage and build with outside visitors. Mariana will become an engine of culture and trans-generational solidarity while designing a model for autonomous and adaptable communities worldwide in an increasingly uncertain and volatile climate.
